About Us
LIT - Legal Intelligence for Rights emerged as a forum for uniting the service of legal professionals dedicated to strategic litigation and legal advice for social change in Brazil and abroad.
Founded and led by Brazilian lawyer Rafael Custódio, who has nearly 20 years of professional experience, LIT seeks to connect its collaborators' expertise with today's key public interest agendas.
Having already achieved concrete results in various paradigmatic cases, the team continues to grow and develop new projects, always with the premise that Law can be a tool for social change.
Some examples of cases we have worked on are: Climate Fund; Amazon Fund; Humiliating Intimate Searches; Drug Law for first-time offenders; Presumption of Innocence; Export of native wood from the Amazon region; Paris Agreement and Brazilian targets; house arrest for pregnant women; access to justice for victims of state violence; illegality of fines for poor defendants; transitional justice; right to protest; among others.
