About Us
LIT – Legal Intelligence for Rights emerged as a forum bringing together legal professionals dedicated to strategic litigation and legal advocacy for social change in Latin America.
Founded and led by Brazilian lawyer Rafael Custódio, who has nearly 20 years of professional experience, LIT aims to connect the expertise of its collaborators with key public interest agendas of our time.
Having already achieved concrete results in several landmark cases, the team continues to expand and develop new projects—always guided by the belief that law can serve as a tool for social transformation.
Some examples of cases we have worked on include: the Climate Fund, the Amazon Fund, Humiliating Body Searches, the Drug Law for First-Time Offenders, the Presumption of Innocence, Export of Native Wood from the Amazon Region, the Paris Agreement, House Arrest for Pregnant Women, Protection of Children and Adolescents; Indigenous Rights; Access to Justice, Illegality of Fines for Poor Defendants, Custody Hearing, Transitional Justice, the Right to Protest, among others.

WHAT WE DO
We work to defend the interests of major public interest causes represented by our clients, including non-profit organizations, public and private foundations, social movements, political parties, political leaders, trade unions, and others.
